Answer: The man from the audience claimed that his neighbour had sold him his well. But when he wanted to draw water from the well, his neighbour wanted to charge him money for it. This was the problem.

(d) How did Birbal solve the problem?

Answer: Birbal asked the neighbour to give rent for keeping water in the other’s well. The neighbour understood the meaning and withdraw his claims. Thus the problem was solved.

A crow-finds meat—flies to a tree–a clever fox—-sees– says to crow—sing–crow sings—meat falls–fox takes—– crow sad flies away.

A sly fox and a foolish crow

Once there was a foolish crow. One day it was flying over a meat shop. When the shopkeeper looked behind, it stole a piece of meat. Then the crow flew to a distant tree and sat on a branch. Under the tree there was a sly fox who noticed it. The fox was greedy and clever also. It asked the crow to sing a song with its beautiful voice. The crow felt proud and started singing. When it opened its mouth, the piece of meat fell down. The clever fox caught the piece of meat in the mouth. The sad crow flew away.

Moral: “Only fools are flattered”.
